Chip Maker Intel introduces RealSense 3D cameras introduced. It has an on-device solution for facial recognition and designed for performing facial authentication on consumer devices like as point-of-sale (PoS) systems, ATMs and kiosks.

RealSense 3D cameras have an easy enrollment process and no network setup is required. Intel has added ‘RealSense ID’ which is a highly accurate, natural solution for a simplified secured entry.

Just by a glance, users get to unlock the important things quickly.

On Wednesday, Intel said that its ‘RealSense ID’ technology combines active depth with a specialized neural network, which is a dedicated system-on-chip and embedded secure element for encrypting and processing user data quicker and safer.

Sagi Ben Moshe, Intel corporate vice president and general manager of Emerging Growth and Incubation, said, “Intel RealSense ID combines purpose-built hardware and software with a dedicated neural network designed to deliver a secure facial authentication platform that users can trust.”

Intel RealSense ID is user adaptable on timely change of the user’s physical features like facial hair and glasses.

It works on the system of various lighting conditions for people with a wide range of heights or complexions as said by the company.

Companies in industries of finance, healthcare and smart access control require technology they can trust.

And Intel RealSense ID has built-in-anti-spoofing technology for protection against false entry attempts with the use of photographs, videos or masks, and it also provides a one-in-one million false acceptance rate.

Intel said, “The solution is also only activated through user awareness and will not authenticate unless prompted by a pre-registered user.”

Intel’s RealSense 3D technology, introduced in 2014, implements cameras for measuring depth and enabling computing systems for reading facial expressions and gestures.
