Data Center in Navi Mumbai gets an Investment of 400 Cr by Web Werks India

Web Werk IndiaWeb Werks India, one of the Data Center providers, has acquired a land parcel in Rabale locality of Navi Mumbai to develop a standalone purpose-built Greenfield data center with an investment of  400 Crore. The Company already has a functioning data center neighbouring to the proposed development in Rabale.

This new standalone 1, 00,000 square feet structure will be an Uptime Tier 3 designed data center with 12.5MW of power and interconnectivity. The data center is estimated to be ready for service by the mid of 2022.

Web Werks recently entered into a considered relationship with Iron Mountain that will invest $150 million primary equity into Web Werks over the next two years. This transaction will allow Web Werks to accelerate its expansion across different Indian cities.

The declaration of the second data center in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is Web Werks latest initiative to build capacity to provide one of the fastest-growing data center markets globally.

Nikhil Rathi, CEO, Web Werks India, states, “Our existing data center in Mumbai runs at 80% occupancy, and we see increased demand from OTTs, Enterprises for our services. Even our existing customers’ demands are growing, and with this new data center we will be able to support that as well as hyper-scale demand who need a connectivity rich ecosystem.”

International Property consultant Savills has facilitated the land transaction deal for Web Werks. Since its first large data center in Mumbai in 2015, Web Werks has recognized itself as the leading, high availability, network dense, carrier-neutral colocation benefactor. With a combined footprint capability of 225,000 square feet, Web Werks operates four strategically located data centers in Mumbai, Pune and Delhi NCR, and 3 worldwide Points of Presence (POPs). Web Werks currently operates 4 megawatts (MW) of capacity supporting over 6,000 servers running 850 clients.
